Hey everyone, it’s Whatever Wednesdays again. Today I’m just going to talk about “Stuff that Works” as an update to my Recent Amazon Purchases.

Stuff that Works

First, fun stuff:

Hair Extensions Clip Highlights

My daughter adores these. She loves to wear them to accessorize any outfit. If you take good care of them, they do what they’re supposed to do, and won’t just fall apart after wearing them once. Good value here.

adidas X Youth Shin Guards

I was a little worried this might be too small for her. However, they ended up working just fine. Kylie’s first soccer practice/game was a success.

However, if I had it to do over again, I’d buy the socks to go with them instead of a week later:

adidas Metro IV OTC Soccer Socks

My daughter went with the pink socks to match. Now she’s all set for the next few weeks of soccer.

Stuff that works:

Skylarlife Home Mold & Mildew Remover

To be quite honest, I was pretty skeptical of this stuff. I didn’t think some little gel thing could get rid of stains that I couldn’t after scrubbing for awhile. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I put this stuff on and left it for 8 hours. The stains mostly vanished wherever I put it on.

Unfortunately, the little tube doesn’t last too long, or I was just too overzealous in my usage of it this first time. However, I was so impressed with the results I have bought more already.

Give it a shot, you might be surprised with what it can do!

Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool

It’s ok to be skeptical of this product. I was too. Prior to my posting about it, I had only tested it on myself and could only give my impression.

However, last week my son had his first baseball practice/game and somehow managed to get bit by bugs. When we got home the bites were already pretty raised and very itchy — according to him. I thought it might be too late to use this Bug Bite Suction Tool thing, but we decided to give it a try. We did 20 seconds on each of his 3 bites and it seemed to make the irritation go away for him — or at least make it bearable. He didn’t feel the need to scratch anymore and didn’t talk about it for the rest of the day.

For me, that means this product is a winner. If it prevents itching/scratching enough to forget about it — then that means less skin irritation from scratching — and less whining.

Give it a shot.

Stuff I haven’t used yet, but am confident in:

Howard Products ORS016 Orange Oil Wood Polish

Howard Products FW0016 Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish and Conditioner

I haven’t quite gotten around to using these quite yet. However, since everyone seems to rave about it I imagine they work pretty well. I’ll try to find some time this weekend to get it done.

Tweezers Set 4-piece – Tweezer Guru

My wife hasn’t tried these yet. However, they look significantly more professional than our current ones and with all their sparkling reviews, I’m not too worried. I’ll update later.

On the Fence

Method Daily Shower Spray

I really wanted to like this product because it seemed easy to use. Just spray it around after the shower. While it may keep the shower cleaner for longer, the bottle seems to run out pretty quickly — or we’re using too much of it. Also, the smell isn’t the greatest either. For that reason, I’m not sure I’ll stick with this one. I’ll make the final decision when the bottle runs out.

Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel, Fresh Citrus

Ok, well first things first. The first time I put this in, I messed up and put 6 tabs worth of the cleaner on one toilet. This is a case of Operator Error because in a world of idiot proof things, I’m the better idiot.

However, the second time I did it went pretty smoothly. We’ll see if it manages to keep the toilets cleaner for longer. I’m still kind on the fence about it whether it’s worth it or not. I’ll make final decisions when we’ve almost run out.

TL;DR

Just updates on the stuff I recently bought.

Stuff that works. What I’m confident in. What I’m on the fence about.
