Snoring Revisited #illumedati 1

Hey everyone, it’s Medicine Mondays again and it’s also New Year’s Eve. Today is just going to be a short post about “Snoring Revisited“.

So… how’s it going?

Well, it’s been about 2 weeks of trying these things:

Dortz® Anti Snoring Devices

Other than them falling out of my nose once in awhile during sleep, they’ve been pretty much worked as advertised.

There is a demonstrable difference in my snoring with and without them. I think the snoring isn’t completely gone with them in, but it is significantly better. My wife can attest to that.

What about your energy level?

As for my energy level, I don’t think I really feel any difference. However, this may because I’m still relatively young and any sleep apnea I was having I was able to compensate for. That said, I have noticed that I am able to get up a little earlier than before with less difficulty.

On normal work weeks, I usually don’t get to sleep until 1 am or so. Then my kids usually wake me up at 6 am before I fall back asleep until 9 or even 10 am sometimes. However, now that I think about, recently I haven’t ever been sleeping till 10 am anymore. In general, I usually fall back asleep and wake up around 8:30 am or 9 am.

How many hours do you normally sleep?

In general, I usually need about 9-10 hours of sleep a night. I think it’s been like that for me since medical school — which may be when my snoring got worse. Perhaps because of this little anti-snoring device, I am requiring less sleep and only need 7-8 hours of sleep a night instead.

It probably would have been more helpful if I had one of those fitness watches so I could try to monitor my sleep before and after. Unfortuntely, I don’t have one of those things.

I’ll just keep you guys updated. However, for now, I think this was a good purchase. I am hoping it will me (and my wife) get better sleep.

What about New Year’s?

I’m working tonight until 12:30 am, but I should be able to catch the midnight fireworks if I look outside my office.

For those of you going out tonight, please be safe out there.

Don’t drink and drive.

TL;DR

Dortz Anti-Snoring Device is working as advertised so far.

I don’t think my energy level is different. However, I may require a little less sleep than before.

I’ll keep you guys updated.

Be safe out there for New Year’s. Don’t drink and drive.
