Hurricane Lane

For those who don’t know, Hurricane Lane is a Category 5 (now Category 4) hurricane which is headed close to the Hawaiian Island Chain. If you remember, I live in Oahu so there is a very real possibility that Hurricane Lane may be make landfall. Current projections are that the eye of the storm will still stay somewhat south of the Hawaiian Islands, but who knows. It’s important to know that even if the Hurricane does stay south, pretty heavy rainfall/winds are still expected — with concerns for flooding and high surf.

That said, I just want to remind everyone:

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

I bought a good amount of water and some more dry food if the need to be without food/water for 14 days occurs, which is what is recommended.

Please read more here from health.hawaii.gov:

The best source of updates is probably from accuweather or from hawaiinewsnow’s tracker.

For those of us on the Hawaiian Island Chain this week/weekend, be safe out there.

Sensei’s Note: There is a possibility that I will be without power for an extended period of time, so the blog will be on hiatus if that was to occur.

TL;DR

Hurricane Lane is coming.

Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
