Thanksgiving 2017 #illumedati

Hey everyone, it’s Whatever Wednesdays again. Today I’m just going to do a post on Thanksgiving 2017. This should be pretty short.

Thanksgiving 2017

First things first.

I’m actually working on Thanksgiving so I won’t be having Thanksgiving Dinner with my family. With the way my schedule works, I always work on Thursdays unless I happen to take that particular 8 day shift off. However, because we all work on Thursdays, we have double staff, but the priority to take off that Thursday goes to those people on the trailing Thursday. I had the trailing Thursday last year, so I was off, but I have the starting Thursday this year so I’m working.

Either way, I never really grew up eating a “traditional” Thanksgiving meal. We did do a “feast” for Thanksgiving for every year though, just with more traditional Vietnamese food. The principles of being thankful for everything we had and how to give back were all still there as well.

I’m actually not sure what my family is having for Thanksgiving this year, but I think it’ll be centered around Italian food.

Be Thankful

Remember to be thankful for what you have. Give back to those who are less fortunate than yourself.

Life is a gift.

Black Friday

I don’t do Black Friday, and I probably never will.

It has a weird juxtaposition between “Being thankful for what you have” on Thursday and then “trampling people to grab a TV” on Friday.

This has been discussed with memes many times before. Here are two examples:

In all seriousness, those of you who do decide to venture out on Black Friday — – please be safe. No “deal” is worth getting hurt (or worse) over.

Also, don’t forget, Black Friday Puts You in the Red.

For those of you heading home for Thanksgiving and/or the Holidays, prepare yourself for questions from your family. Check out my post: Happy Holidays and Free Consultations for All for how to deal with it.

TL;DR

Be thankful. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

If you’re doing Black Friday. Be safe.
